Not much to report. Did not get into the water at all. It was blown out both days – Saturday and Sunday. South-east winds… the worst of all.
Ok to be fair, I reckon it was sort of surfable today. Still quite onshore but the wind has dropped a bit. It was messy and all over the place. I saw a few guys catching some mushy waves. Not good enough to get me out on a cold winter’s weekend but if you were desperate there was some sort of a wave.
Getting a bit restless now after a weekend of no surf. Tried to keep myself entertained with yoga (can only recommend Katie’s class) and shopping instead. Hoping for alright surf tomorrow morning. Wind is still out of the SE but only 10 knots. Could be alright. Check out rangsies on Twitter for a surfreport at sunrise.
By the way, Billabong Tahiti Pro is on at the moment. They are surfing Teahupoo – my favourite wave of all times. Look at the pic. How awesome and scary does it look at the same time? I would be scared to death even paddling out. Amazing to watch though. You need serious balls to surf that thing. View the live webcast >>
