Wow what a weekend! Saturday and Sunday were both gorgeous with up to 30 degrees. You would not believe spring has only just started. It felt like in the middle of summer. The only difference was, unlike in summer, we actually had some rideable waves this weekend too.
Saturday was a good 2ft plus on South facing beaches. I got out of the city to catch a wave down South in the national park. We had heaps of fun to start with in uncrowded waves. Conditions deteriorated quickly late morning with the wind picking up and the tide rushing in. It was still worth the ride. Afterwards coffee and brekkie in Stanwell with a paper. That’s how I love my Saturday mornings.
Sunday was same, same but different. It was on the smaller side of 2ft but another amazing morning with barely any wind. I took Bruce (my mal) for a bit of a ride very early on in Bondi. It was fun and it looked like it was getting better with the tide coming in. I almost was tempted to squeeze in another lunchtime surf. I barely finished that thought and a storm swept through Bondi. The almost glassy surf turned into a mushy mess and was pretty much unsurfable for the rest of the day.
The week ahead looks kind of ok. No significant swell but there should be a bump now and then this week with little or no wind early in the morning.
