Not much to report from last weekend’s surf. It was hot, hot, hot. Early mornings were a bit foggy and waves were miniscule. Some mates headed North and claimed to have surfed 2-3 footers at some wave magnets…Well, lucky them. Bondi was pretty much flat on Saturday.
On Sunday, I dragged down the mal early. It was freaking busy on the beach as “Breakfast on Bondi” was on and thousands of people were gathering to enjoy breakfast in Bondi and listening to music and try food as part of the Sydney food festival. Slightly grumpy because Bondi was taken over by crowds at sunrise already (usually the crowds only take over from around 10.00 am), I was pleasantly surprised that there were only a few people in the water but a fun little wave after all. And, most beautiful, an orchestra was playing on the beach for the brekkie event which made this morning surf very special.
Sun avo waves were still small but great shape and saw some guys scoring fun waves. I succumbed to the call of a beer in the pub to watch the Rugby final (yeye sucked in..but you gotta watch the finals, right?) congrats to the Kiwis by the way…
Oh and here are some pics from the brekki on the beach, looking pretty impressive >>
