Saturday morning saw ideal conditions at Maroubra but the banks had obviously decided to pull out at the last minute because there were a lot of shut downs and frustrated surfers … a shame because there were some nice waves earlier in the week when the swell was bigger. Saturday it was about 3 foot so could have been really fun. Sunday was similar but pretty small. A few two foot sets every now and then but not enough to really satisfy the weekend crowd.
The surf is looking small for the start of the week so perhaps some extracurricular activities might be needed to get you by. Myself, I’ve got Cross Fit. It’s cross training that’s great for surfing because it works on your all aspects of your fitness with the purpose of making you the fittest human possible. Strength, endurance and agility and balance. Three things that really help your surfing and help you avoid injury.
That said I’m not sure I have extreme levels of dedication in me and tend to avoid activities that cause extreme pain so it’s yet to been seen if I will reach super human levels of fitness. It is usually a day or two before I can walk properly after wards but anyway … so google it. There’s plenty of information out there.
Enjoy the week hopefully some swell pops onto the horizon so everyone can go to work with a little buzz.
