Well, well, looks like we had some swell over the weekend. There were easily some 8ft sets rolling through by late afternoon yesterday. Even Ben Buckler was breaking. Unfortunately, it was super windy too. So it was a bit wild out there. If you went for a bit of a drive you could have probably found a protected corner somewhere but I was no way enticed to even think about going for a surf. I probably have what I call an ‘Indo-hangover’. The memories of perfect waves are still too fresh. I can’t get myself to brave Australian winter conditions just yet. But that’s ok. I know it will only last a few more days until desperation takes over and I would surf anything.
So no surf stories as such but in other surf news….
City to Surf was on Sunday: Bondi was just insane. 85,000 people making their way to my little suburb. I do usually like the City to Surf. It’s a great event for a good cause but for me personally the crowd was a bit overwhelming considering I was sitting in the jungle in Java not that long ago. Felt a bit lost amongst the crowd – ‘Indo-hangover’ all over again…
Eye update: Luckily, no more indo hangover when it comes to my injury. Some of you may have seen in last weekend’s update that I’ve stacked it massively and the board hit my face. Exactly, a week later you can barely see it. I can’t believe how quickly it was gone. Very happy that this holiday memory did not stick…I might even get away without a scar.
New page 3 boy: We’ve got a new page 3 boy. Surf camp clown Kimbo kindly volunteered for page 3 boy pics. He makes such a great page 3 boy, I could not decide if I should put up the gun or the bum shot so I just uploaded both pics. Check them out here >>
Next week’s surf-forecast: We’ll have waves all week, but only Tuesday at the earliest I think we’ll surf Bondi again. That’s when the wind’s meant to turn offshore and ease a bit. Hope the banks survived the storm (probably not). Heard they were quite good in the last few weeks.
