Aquabumps: Bondi surf updates and pics. There’s a daily newsletter you can sign up to. Awesome pics and great distraction in between work emails. He’s also got a FB page worthwhile checking out.
Frothers: Surf updates and pics from around the Eastern Suburbs and the guys’ overseas trips. Another newsletter worth signing up to if you want to know what’s going on surfwise around the Eastern Suburbs.
Saltmotion: Newsletter from the dark side (i.e. Northern Beaches). Sometimes makes me want to cry when it’s howling onshore in Bondi and I’ll get the Newsletter from Manly with perfectly groomed waves.
Surf Forecasts and Reports
Coastalwatch : Surf forecasts and reports from all aroundAustralia. Has a lot of surfcams which are quite useful before you are about to go on that 3 hour roadie. Could save you some disappointment. Love their smartphone App. Download Hurley surf. If you invest a few bucks, you get the cams on your phone too.
Swellnet : Surf forecasts and reports from all around Australia. Check it every day like Coastalwatch. Chances that one of them is right are quite high. If both have the same forecast, you are definitely winning.
Magic Seaweed : Going on a surftrip? Find surf forecasts and reports for tons of overseas spots here.
Seabreeze: I use Seabreeze as my cross check surf site…ie. if Coastalwatch and Swellnet can’t make up their mind. I verify on seabreeze. They are super detailed when it comes to wind forecast. You can pretty much tell exactly what time the wind’s picking up, where it’s coming from and how strong it is.
Surf-forecast: This is another reasonable forecast site. Good for weekends away because it has a very comprehensive list of surf breaks and a star rating system. Would not rely so much on the stars though. Not quite sure what they base it off but the wind and swell forecast is usually quite accurate.
Bondi Local sites
Bondi Girl Surfriders : Check out this site if you want to meet other surfing girls for fun surftrips and if you are interested in testing your surfing skills in the monthly comps.
Bondi Boardriders: This is the local boardrider’s club site. Worth checking out for events and comps. Even if you don’t want to join the competition. At least you know when they are on and you can go watch the local surf talent in the South corner.
Bondi Longboard Club: That’s the site for the longboarders amongst you. Like the Boardriders they have monthly comps on. Drop by and say hello or even join the comps when you see them set up on the grass with BBQ and lots of pretty longboards.
