Autumn has been off to a good start so far. The weather’s been really nice. Hardly any wind, especially in the mornings. Sunrises are beautiful. The water is super warm and crystal clear…very inviting.
The only thing that was missing on the weekend was actual waves. To be fair, at least it’s not completely flat but for the last two weeks the swell has not made it beyond knee high.
I hate to complain (and ok admittedly, I might be a bit grumpy while I’m writing this because I had a sh… sleep – I dreamt about being eaten by a shark and I’m not even scared of sharks…WTF??) but come on Huey bring us some waves, pleeeeease.
I can only drag Bruce (my longboard) so many times to the beach…I really like the odd longboard session in small waves but two weeks in a row and I start missing Ranga and Kermit (my short boards). I actually resorted to bodysurfing lately. Tamarama on low tide is heaps of fun, you just have to be careful not to be taken out by some body boarders or peeps on softboards.
I guess I better stop complaining and be grateful that I’m fortunate enough to live two minutes across the road from the ocean. There is nothing better to go for a dip in the ocean – with or without board. And you know Huey is allowed to have a break too. I’ve heard rumours he’s going to return in time for next weekend anyway…yay!
Have a great week, gidgets and friends of gidgets!
