If you’ve seen pictures of One Wave Fluro Fridays, you’ve probably seen some crazy outfits (Surf Lion with Tassels anyone?).
Ever wondered where they get some of their amazing fluro outfits from?
Well, look no further, meet the ladies from Stretcheyz. But Stretcheyz is more than just crazy Fluro Friday outfits. They’ve created surfwear that’s not just gorgeous, it also protects tender gidget skin from the harsh Aussie sun.
But who am I to tell their story…Hear first hand in our interview with the Stretcheyz Gidgets
Tell us about Stretcheyz. What is Stretcheyz? What’s the story behind Stretcheyz?
Stretcheyz, started out as awesome outfits for people to wear in the water during OneWave Friday morning surf sessions. With the ever growing importance of sun protection and the lack of colour in the line up Team Stretcheyz wanted to combine both elements to create a unique range of water sport sun protection. The UPF 50+ Lycra suits quench the thirst for energetic and fashionable protective sun wear. They are a vibrant and a colorful alternative to darker shades of rash suits and long sleeved swimwear.
What makes Stretcheyz different?
They are designed to bring an element of energy and colour to the water often dominated by drab shades. We wanted people to be able to have fun and to express themselves in a different way whilst doing what they love. Stretcheyz enables ocean lovers to do this in a creative and colorful manner.
What’s your design inspiration?
Inspiration for the vibrant designs comes from a variety of sources including, a love for the ocean, an energetic lifestyle and the One Wave fluro Friday events on Bondi Beach raising awareness for mental health.
Who are the gidgets behind Team Stretcheyz?
The team behind Stretcheyz include three surf obsessed chicks, a set of Japanese-English Twins and their close English friend, who currently reside in Sydney, Bondi Beach, Australia. Twins Aprilla and Dabriella have a decade of fashion design and styling experience between them in London and Tokyo, while Julia brings experience of digital marketing and e‐commerce. Wanting to break out from the corporate world, the three have combined their talents to make a product that is fun and full of energy
What does the future hold for Stretcheyz?
We’re really looking forward to growing the brand, releasing the next range, exploring new designs and fabrics whilst working on Mini Stretcheyz for kids. Somewhere in there we will hopefully get some time in the water and snow!
